Padbol, a safe sport

Padbol, a safe sport

In the regular practice of sports, there are multiple advantages for the physical and mental health of individuals. However, some disciplines entail a high risk of injury for athletes. For this reason, there is a growing interest in engaging in low-impact activities to maintain bodily well-being. An example of this is Padbol, a safe sport created in Argentina 14 years ago, which combines features of soccer, tennis, volleyball, and squash, and can be practiced by anyone without the need for professional training.

A safe and inclusive sport

Originating in 2008 in the city of La Plata, Argentina, Padbol was officially launched at the end of 2010 and quickly gained popularity in different countries worldwide as a safe and inclusive discipline. In this regard, anyone can practice this sport, played in pairs with the aim of passing the ball over the net to the opponent's court using the head, chest, feet, or legs.

Furthermore, in this enjoyable game, players can use the glass walls of the court to bounce the ball, adding speed and dynamism to Padbol. Moreover, it is important to note that the flooring used in both indoor and outdoor facilities incorporates a high-tech surface designed specifically for athletes to move safely, reducing the risk of impact and joint damage.

Regulations designed to protect athletes

The dynamics of the game are another factor contributing to Padbol's low injury rate, as players spend most of the time away from each other, covering the different areas of the 10 meters long and 6 meters wide court. Additionally, one of the rules of this sport prohibits contested balls over the net, eliminating physical contact between athletes.

On the other hand, enthusiasts of this discipline have created the "Jaguar23," a ball made of high-quality polyurethane, weighing between 380 and 400 grams, which reduces the chances of experiencing headaches when heading the ball. Furthermore, this ball has a vibrant color to ensure visibility in any lighting conditions, as well as ensuring a consistent bounce and enabling the execution of precise shots and sophisticated tactics due to its seamless design.

In this way, the practice of Padbol has spread to different regions of Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, positioning itself as a good option for fun with friends or family in a safe manner, enjoying some of the most exciting components of soccer, tennis, volleyball, and squash, albeit without the typical dangers of these sports.
